Kalpakalakshmi Charitable Trust is an organisation that strives to reach various corners of the country to help fund deserving individuals or organisations who have promising ongoing projects or proposals with a genuine agenda to promote traditional arts, education for children or adults, and environment studies or conservation efforts that genuinely aim at the protection of eco-spaces around themselves. The trust looks forward to creating healthy infrastructure and sustainable models for such projects and strives to guide and support them until they become self-sustainable.
Generally, we invite proposals and acquire sufficient supporting evidence that claim its reliability, which our team verifies. Additionally, our team also keep their eyes out for such projects, verifies the same and takes them on. Regardless, decisions are taken in an unbiased, transparent manner and are communicated to the relevant people. Once the project is sanctioned, we travel with it till it becomes self-reliant.

Making education accessible to those who don’t have the privilege of access is the primary focus has been one of our primary focus areas. We strongly advocate this cause as it was very close to the heart of our founding trustee – Lakshmi Venkatraman..
As urbanisation is expanding rapidly, human habitations are expanding leading to encroachment into natural habitats and hence there is a threatening increase in heat and pollution levels. We are seeing a steep decline in the quality of life in terms of natural environments, clean air, access to fresh potable water and poison-free food.
Ms. Lakshmi Venkatraman founded the KLCT. Being an artist herself, she had a deep interest in both visual and performing arts which led her to discover traditional art forms that are dying in the wake of modernism.
