Education

Making education accessible to those who don’t have the privilege of access is the primary focus has been one of our primary focus areas. We strongly advocate this cause as it was very close to the heart of our founding trustee – Lakshmi Venkatraman..

Education, today, means building knowledge and skills that aid the overall personality development of a child; and is not just limited to academics. However, there still lies a wide gap between how education is facilitated in urban verses rural towns all over India.

For instance, it is a fact that a large number of girl children studying in government aided schools in rural areas discontinue their schooling during their adolescence due to absence of hygienic sanitary facilities in rural schools.

Setting up of libraries in such schools could lead to the facilitation of children leading them to become global citizens sooner than otherwise.

There is an immense potential in terms of varied talents and inherent skills that lay dormant amidst the youth living in resettlement areas all around the city; the identification and channeling of these can not only potentially reduce juvenile crime rates tremendously, it can also create bring about a massive change in the lifestyles of those families.

KCLT’s contributions towards such educational projects and compensation of fees for education of hundreds of children in need, alongside, are consistently growing.
