KLCT is committed to work with individuals and organisations working in the area of Education, Environment and Arts. We support a wide range of projects under these focus areas. We are happy to be associated with projects that positively impact the lives of communities, artisans and Nature at large, through work done in the focus areas.
We thank KLCT for supporting 3 Earth Education Fellows to run their education projects on environmental stewardship for middle school children in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. They were part of the 20 member cohort of the Earth Educators Fellowship established with support from the National Geographic Society and philanthropists in India.
We are grateful to the KLC Trust for donating 10 sewing machines. We can now support a total of 50 ladies, giving them regular orders and making them financially independent.
I am grateful to the KLC Trust for providing me, a first generation lawyer, an opportunity to assist the communities in Tamil Nadu in cases filed by them to preserve and protect the nature around then. Support for legal research has helped me develop and hone my skills as a lawyer, and the communities also have access to better legal aid and counsel.
The farmers of the Khonoma cooperative are grateful to KLCT for providing the vehicle for the transport of crops to Kohima and Dimapur. Now they are able to consolidate their crops and transport them to the markets themselves.
The funding by KLCT was extremely useful in reviving interest in a desi variety of cotton grown organically. It helped farmers to experiment with organic desi cotton instead of growing GMO cotton.
Ahimsa Santhai, organised by Non-violent Economy, brought together over 130 eco-friendly enterprises, over 10,000 people and over 2000 students. One of the key highlights of the event was honouring the producers of South India with the Lakshmi Venkatraman memorial award contributed by KLCT.
Without KLCTs donation for the essentials towards the running of the Craft Week such as support for the artists, craft materials and food provisions, the event would not be possible. We thank KLCT for their generous contribution.
We are extremely grateful to KLCT for building a toilet unit consisting of 10 lavatory and 50 urinals at a cost of 4 lacs for the rural high school located in Karuvantha village in the newly formed Tenkasi district of Tamilnadu.
KLCT has supported 4 schools in rural Cuddalore with infrastructure for our arts and library program. The cupboards and racks donated by KLC trust have been supportive in keeping resources safe and easily accessible
KLCTs generous contribution has significantly improved the lives of the children we serve. Last year, we reached 479 children, marking a significant milestone and we hope to reach more children in the following year.
